Cornea & Contact Lenses

Our contact lens center offers a wide selection of contact lenses including disposable soft contact, bifocal/multifocal, toric, and colored lenses. Whether you wear daily, weekly or monthly disposables, or conventional (vial) lenses, we have the lenses to fit your needs. Here are some of our conventional contact lens options:

contact lenses

Soft Contact Lenses

We offer spherical and toric contact lenses which are used for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and different magnitudes and degrees of astigmatism.

We also offer multifocal contact lenses which are primarily used for correction of presbyopia (decreased in near vision due to age). If you are interested in spectacle free good vision at all distances, these are the contact lenses of choice.

These contact lens options are available in daily disposables, bi-weekly disposables, monthly disposables, yearly disposables and also come in a range of cosmetic colored options.

Hard Contact Lenses

These are the contact lenses of choice for very irregular corneas and conditions such as Keratoconus, post refractive surgery ectasia and high corneal astigmatism. These lenses provide crisp clear vision with the added advantage of being durable while also optimizing corneal health.

Other Contact Lens Specialty Services

We also offer other contact lens related services including the management of corneal ectatic conditions and disorders relating to corneal health such as Keratoconus, Pellucid marginal degeneration, Post refractive surgery ectasia, non-surgical management of corneal pathologies. We also offer one of the widest ranges of specialty contact lens services available in the country like:

Corneal reshaping or orthokeratologic lenses offer day time clear vision without the need to wear spectacles or contact lenses in the day time. These gas permeable lenses gently reshape the cornea (transparent tissue covering the colored part of the eye) during sleep resulting in clear vision and correction of refractive error without the need for spectacles, contact lens wear or refractive surgery to achieve clear vision during waking hours! For those not suitable or not interested in refractive surgery but still want spectacle and contact lens free vision this is a great alternative.

Orthokeratology is also known to be an effective and safe tool in the control of myopia progression in children from the age of 6 and above.

We offer contact lens options to deal with the vision related complications of post refractive surgery, these options include rigid gas permeable lenses, custom made soft toric contact lenses, scleral lenses and orthokeratology lenses.

These are lenses meant for the correction of high hyperopia after cataract extraction surgery in a child. These lenses offer very high powers with optimized materials that prevent any damage to the eye of the child while providing clear vision and preventing the eye from becoming lazy.

Prosthetic contact lenses are used to mask or hide disfigurements of the eyes from scarring. These lenses provide improved cosmetic appearance similar to the good eye. They also help to improve the self-esteem and look of the individual.

Scleral lenses are special rigid gas permeable contact lens which sits only on the sclera (the white part of the eye) without touching the sensitive cornea. This unique feature of this lens makes it ideal for the rehabilitation of the most advanced corneal irregularities (like advanced cases of keratoconus). The lens sits on the eye with the bowl of the lens filled with fluid which provides symptomatic as well as therapeutic relief for severe dry eyes and provides an environment for healing of the ocular surface.

The indications for scleral lenses are both optical and therapeutic and they include high refractive errors, Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Corneal Degeneration, Keratoglobus, Severe primary and secondary dry eyes, Exposure keratopathy, Persistent epithelial defects, Ocular Cicatrical  Pemphigoid, Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency, ocular surface dryness and disease associated with Steven Johnsons Syndrome etc. Scleral lenses have also been shown to decrease the need for corneal transplantation in patients requiring the procedure for optical reasons such as Keratoconus.

Our scleral lens center provides a wide range of lens parameters and full scleral lens services at its best with well trained and qualified specialists in this field.
